The Message that being black has so many facets that we should allow ourself to elevate in. Not falling for the trap of settling for scraps that in itself if racism , we are not violent and education & elevation does not exclude being a youthful people with rhythm who create with & from passion.
ANNAMISSALPHA | Anna Adonu Reynolds: My music is for Afro music lovers and corporate baddies alike, crossing different eras and sounds. As a creative, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of how to push our authentic message playful as it can be while staying on point and delivering just great music.
I love Fashion and presenting things beautifully but my message has always gone and still goes way past looks and the ppl in the audience with dept insight and spiritual growth here that and appreciate that on a level that is my motivation for always digging deeper when I write music!
Every generation has its thing. I remember myself at the Black parties R&B, soul, dancehall 1990s energy. It was a ball. Now, as a grown woman with responsibilities work, bills, and two young girls I still make music. And while my sound is young, fresh, and in the zeitgeist, my lyrics represent women like me: grown, evolving, facing real life, yet still loving a moment to let our hair down. This music will naturally be great for that,as well as for young girls and guys who are still growing too, helping them build the mindset early that the party is cool but keep your eye on the prize.
And I’m doing all this with the sound that feels like home: music that reminds me of innovation, my African roots, and the rhythms that move with me while I clean, drive, work, and live Afrobeats, Afro-fusion, Afro-soul, and touches of Amapiano-house.
My mission is to lead young Black women into a true soft life not one based on a man providing for you, but a life where a hardworking woman knows it’s okay to work hard and also play hard.
Songs like “Let Her Cook” show the type of man who can stand beside a powerhouse woman without being combative sexy, soft, precise, aligned. The EP’s title track “Soft Life,” and what’s coming next, carry the message of Annamissalpha my alter ego and my creative fire.
As Anna Adonu Reynolds, aiming for corporate positions in tech and creative direction while still making music, learning new things, and living Afrifitness, I’m painting the life I want and the love I want. It all becomes reality once you can see it. And as I continue writing The Love I Want into next year, watch it all unfold.
